The Enterprise girls struggled at the Pilot Rock tournament only to fall to Hermiston’s JV in the opening contest 52-43 on Friday. The Red and Black were bitten again in Saturdays consolation round against Union losing 44-35.

Enterprise dropped behind in the first quarter of both games by margins of 9-0 against Hermiston and 13-0 against Pilot Rock. Playing from behind is a tough thing to do with a young inexperienced team as Enterprise has found out from previous outings. “We’re not getting enough shots off right now and most of it is that we are turning the ball over a lot,” said EHS Basketball Coach Mike Crawford. “Also we’ve seen a couple of decent presses that forced us to execute and when we execute we do fine but when we don’t we usually turn the ball over and the other team gets a shot at the basket,” he added.

Enterprise senior Lacey Nobles led all scorers in the game with 17 points.

Mychal Bothum and Andrea Burrows led Hermiston’s attack with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Enterprise’s Kayla Stoffel stepped up her play in the Pilot Rock game leading the EHS scoring with 12 points.

The Pilot Rock defense shut down Nobles holding her to one field goal. Nobles was also 1/2 from the line in the contest.

Sorrel Ward led Pilot Rock’s scoring with 12 points.
