Dollie Jewell

Dollie Ilene Jewell, 67, died Sept. 3, 2002, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born Sept. 22, 1934 in Wallowa.

In 1952, Dollie married Jack Jewell and together they raised five daughters. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Juneau, Alaska,, where they moved in 1987 after living most of their lives in Eastern Oregon.

Dollie loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and looked forward to new adventures. She was was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in LaGrande and Juneau.

Mrs. Jewell is survived by her husband, Jack of Juneau; daughters and sons-in-laws, Carol Graham, Elizabeth & Jeff Landvatter and Laurel Carlton, all of Juneau; Barbara & Larry Druesedow of Nikiski, Alaska; and Leslie and Jim Frey of Eagle River, Alaska; sister Lorraine Sasser; sisters-in-law Ilona Johnson and Judy Parrish, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Johnson; her mother and stepfather, Helen & Charles Coy; and her brother Steven Johnson.

Graveside services will take place Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. at Bramlett Cemetery in Wallowa. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Art Erhman Cancer Fund, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #259, 1212 Jefferson Ave., LaGrande, OR 97850.
