Nine-year-old Isabella Weimer of La Grande, a girl suffering from severe cebral palsey, died in her sleep at the Wallowa Lake State Park campgrounds over the Fourth of July weekend.

Authorities say the youngster died between 10 p.m. Saturday night and 7 a.m. Sunday morning when parents Bruce and Deanna Weimer found her and called 911.

Medic I and the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call. Deputy Sheriff Neil Rogers reported that the deceased girl had been suffering with a bout of pneumonia.

The family had been camping at the state park when the young girl passed away.
