Grain Growers buy Enterprise Chevron

Wallowa County Grain Growers has purchased the Enterprise Chevron station along with the bulk fuel storage plant on Alamo Street in Enterprise.

Residents will not notice much of a change, according to Grain Grower’s manager Bill Nightengale. “It will be business as usual,” he said.

The station on S. First Street was owned by Byrnes Oil Co., Inc. of Pendleton, Walla Walla and Enterprise – a company that has been in business for 45 years. Byrnes operated the Enterprise station and bulk plant along with a Pacific Pride card-lock station in Joseph.

The Chevron station will retain it’s signage and continue to pump Chevron gas, delivered by Brynes. The Pacific Pride cardlock in Joseph will remain a Byrnes business, too, according to Ron Schuening, office manager for Byrnes in Pendleton.

He could not comment on the reason for the sale but said, “As far as I know, we’re not planning any changes.”
