Friday basketball previews: Enterprise, Wallowa teams host home games

Basketball teams from Enterprise and Wallowa are in action Friday night. Here are previews of all four games:
Heppner girls at Enterprise

When: 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2.
Records: Heppner, 16-5 overall, 5-3 2A Blue Mountain Conference; Enterprise, 13-7 overall, 6-1 2A Blue Mountain Conference.
OSAA rankings: Heppner is No. 12. Enterprise is No. 14.
Overview: Despite leading the conference standings, three teams behind Enterprise hold higher state rankings including visiting Heppner. The Lady Mustangs roll into Enterprise on a three-game winning streak, all conference victories. In the team’s first meeting, Jan. 12 in Heppner, the Outlaws won, 52-47.
This is the third home game in a row for the Lady Outlaws with Enterprise experiencing the team’s first conference loss in their last outing, a 40-41 defeat at the hands of Weston-McEwen. The Lady Tiger-Scots are only one game behind the Outlaws with Stanfield only two games back.

Records: Heppner, 12-9 overall, 5-3 2A Blue Mountain Conference; Enterprise, 13-7 overall, 3-4 2A Blue Mountain Conference.
OSAA rankings: Heppner is 19th. Enterprise is 20th.
Overview: The Heppner boys, along with the rest of the conference, continue to trail Stanfield, with a 7-0 conference mark. The Mustangs are in second pace in the conference standings, one game ahead of Weston- McEwen. Heppner has won the team’s last three games including a Wednesday, Jan. 31 victory over Irrigon.
The Outlaws are home, sitting only one spot behind Heppner in the state rankings. Enterprise is looking to rebound from a conference loss at home to the TigerScots on Monday, Jan. 29, a game that broke a three-game winning streak.
Pine Eagle girls at Wallowa
Time: 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2.
Records: Pine Eagle (39) 7-13 overall, 1-6 1A Old Oregon League; Wallowa (26) 12-8 overall, 4-4 1A Old Oregon League.
OSAA rankings: Pine Eagle is 39th. Wallowa is 26th.
Overview: The Lady Spartans visit Wallowa after celebrating most recent victory, a 36-29 nonleague game over Pilot Rock on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The game versus the Lady Cougars marks the third of a five-game road stretch for Pine Eagle.
Wallowa is finally back home after being on the road for the past five games with hometown fans not seeing the Cougars since Jan. 12. Wallowa celebrated its first game back home on Thursday, Feb. 1, crushing Cove to improve to 4-4 in league.

Records: Pine Eagle (80) 1-20 overall, 0-7 1A Old Oregon League; Wallowa (39) 9-13 overall, 3-5 1A Old Oregon League.
OSAA rankings: Pine Eagle is 80th. Wallowa is 39th.
Overview: The season has been a long one for the Spartans boys with only a single victory on the team’s record on Dec. 28 and a winless showing thus far in league play.
Wallowa hosts Pine Eagle looking to break a three-game skid, the most recent on Thursday, Feb. 1, a home loss to Cove. The Cougars currently sit seventh in the league standings with this upcoming week seeing the end of the regular season.
