Boys basketball: Cougars extend win streak to six

PILOT ROCK — The Wallowa boys’ basketball team braved the roads and picked up the team’s sixth consecutive victory, a 44-37 win over Pilot Rock on Tuesday, Jan. 9 in the Rocket gym.

“We are playing a lot better,” said Wallowa coach Deon Chandler, but he noted that “We have a big game coming on Friday.”

Team and individual statistics were not provided for the Tuesday game.

Wallowa (7-8 overall, 1-0 1A Old Oregon League) does indeed have a big game on Friday, Jan. 12 as the Imbler Panthers (13-2 overall, 1-0 1A Old Oregon League) come to town for a 7:30 p.m. game.
