JOSEPH — The Joseph boys’ basketball team performed on the court this past season, but also found success in the classroom. The Eagles combined for the top grade point average among all 1A boys’ basketball teams, according to information recently released by the Oregon School Activities Association.

The Joseph team ended the basketball season with a 3.85 GPA, beating out Southwest Christian’s 3.83 average for the top team in the classroom among 1A teams.

The Eagles ranked second in the state among all basketball teams, beaten by 2A Western Christian’s 3.86 GPA.

While the Cougar boys of Wallowa High School just missed making the top 10 list of 1A teams statewide, they still made the list of teams above 3.0, ending the season with a team GPA of 3.37.
