ENTERPRISE — A longtime Enterprise couple will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary this year with a gathering at the home of one of their sons Saturday, Aug. 3.

Marvin and Elanor McBride were married Sept. 25, 1949, said their son, David McBride. The McBrides have lived in Wallowa County for about 45 years, mostly in Imnaha and on Alder Slope outside of Enterprise.

David McBride said his parents didn’t plan to hold the gathering on the actual anniversary because too many family members would have been unable to attend in September. So Saturday was chosen for the celebration.

David McBride is one of four children of the couple who will attend the celebration, along with 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as friends of the elder McBrides.

David said there will be a barbecue from noon to 6 p.m.

The gathering will be at his home at 63232 Scotch Creek Road, west of Joseph.
