A weekend home stand didn’t pan out for the Enterprise boys basketball team, as the Outlaws dropped a pair of games to league foes.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, conference leader Stanfield invaded the Outlaws’ home gym and showed why they’re undefeated in league play by walking out with a 71-43 win. The loss dropped the Outlaws, now 13-9 overall and 3-6 in conference play, into fifth place in the 2A-4 Blue Mountain Conference. It was the Outlaws’ third loss in a row, at all home.

On Friday, Feb. 2, the visiting Heppner Mustangs handed the Outlaws boys basketball team a 57-48 2A Blue Mountain Conference loss.

Heppner jumped out early in the game, leading 18-10 after the first quarter of play and extended the lead to 36-14 by halftime.

Enterprise rallied in the second half to eat away most of that 22-point halftime deficit but didn’t have enough time to complete the comeback.

In the loss, Ryder Tomasini had 15 points and added six rebounds for Enterprise. Kason Mitchell added 10 points to go with seven rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Outlaws, No. 22 in the Oregon School Activities Association rankings, have one game remaining in the regular season: a Friday, Feb. 9 game at Weston-McEwen. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. A nonleague game scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Elgin was canceled.

The Cougars (10-13 overall, 4-5 in 1A-7 Old Oregon League play) have one game remaining in the regular season: On Friday, Feb. 9, they play host to Powder Valley. Tipoff for that game is set for 7:30 p.m.
