Golf: County golfers complete at Baker tournament

BAKER CITY — The Enterprise girls golf team combined for a stroke total of 512, good enough for fourth place at the District Preview tournament on Friday, April at the Quail Ridge course in Baker City.

La Grande took top honors after shooting 401 for the day followed by Dufur’s 430. Trinity Lutheran was third, with a score of 493.

Kimber Stein was the low golfer of the day for the Outlaws after firing a 103 for the 18 holes. Codi Cunningham carded a 129 followed by freshman Hazyl Storlie’s 130. Lydia Yost added 150 strokes to the total and Jordyn Ellis finished with a 190.

Boys teams hit links

The boys’ golf teams representing both Enterprise and Joseph/Wallowa hit the links at Quail Ridge in Baker City on Friday, April 19 to take part in the District Preview tournament.

Enterprise, led by Nathan Lamb’s score of 95, placed just outside the top five teams after a combined score of 452.

Senior Caleb Sheahan fired a 120 while Alden Brann ended with a score of 101. Karder Stangel finished his 18 holes with a 136 and Wyatt Nash wrapped up the team score with a 140.

Wallowa/Joseph failed to obtain a team score due to lack of golfers.

Individually, Owen Gorham fired a even 100 on the course while William Clark ended with a tally of 114. Jonas Mckee shot 134 for the day.

The team from Trinity Lutheran was crowned champions after combining for a stroke total of 364. Prairie City finished second after a 410-stroke total and Echo/Stanfield managed a top three showing with a score of 412.
