ABERDEEN, Wash. — Broadcaster Lee Douglas Perkins, the longtime owner of radio station KWVR in the Wallowa Valley, died on March 6, 2024 in Aberdeen, Washington, at age 91.

He was born in Danvers, Massachusetts on Dec. 1, 1932.
Perkins’ radio career spanned 61 years; his awards included recognition as the Oregon Broadcaster of the Year. He broadcast sports events, parades, rodeos and much more and was a longtime volunteer in the community. He sold the radio station in 2009 and retired to Ocean Shores, Washington.
He will be interred with military honors at Mount Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:30 p.m., followed by a memorial gathering at the home of Sandra and Pete Holtman.
