Baseball: Eagles stay perfect in district play

MILTON-FREEWATER — The Wallowa Valley baseball team remains perfect in 3A Special District 3 play after taking two road victories over the McLoughlin Pioneers on Friday, April 19 in Milton-Freewater.
The first game of the day proved to be the closest with the Eagles taking a three-run win, 4-1 over McLoughlin.

The Eagle bats ruled game two with the Eagles rolling to a 12-3 victory.
The two wins keep the Eagles at the top of the district standings and maintains Wallowa Valley as the lone team with an undefeated district record.
The Eagles currently are ranked seventh in the state 3A rankings.
Wallowa Valley (11-2 overall, 4-0 3A Special District 3) continues in district action but plays for the first time at home on Friday, April 26 with two games scheduled at Joseph Charter School versus Riverside (2-11 overall, 1-4 3A Special District 3).
The struggling Pirates are 1-7 in the team’s last eight games but did upset Burns/Crane on April 12. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Eagles hit the road again on Saturday, April 27 with a pair of games against Burns/Crane at Burns High School. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
