Man picks up hitchhiker, forces hitchhiker to drive to Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Ore. — A Klamath Falls man is accused of forcing a hitch-hiker to drive him to town by threatening him with a knife!

25 year-old Mark Aaron Garcia is now charged with robbery and kidnapping.

Police say Garcia picked up a Chiloquin man on the Sprague River Highway Wednesday morning and ordered him to drive to Klamath Falls.

Police say the hitch hiker bailed out of the car when they got to the junction of 97 and Campus Drive.

Police caught Garcia after a brief chase.

The hitchhiker was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
