Case count ticks upward in last week

ENTERPRISE — COVID-19 numbers ticked upward in Wallowa County the last week after a two-week run of single-digit case counts.
The Oregon Health Authority reports on Nov. 23 and 24 showed five new cases each day in Wallowa County, and on Nov. 29 seven cases from the prior four days. For the week, the total was 17 cases, bringing the overall count during the pandemic to 754, and for the month — with two days still to count — to 49 for the month.
There were no new reported deaths, with the total remaining at 13.
The vaccination rate of adults in Wallowa County is up to 68.6%, with 64.6% being fully vaccinated. Nearly a quarter of residents 18 and older — 23.6% — have received an additional dose.
Currently, 70 youths age 5-11 — a rate of 11.7% — have received the child vaccine.
