State issues air quality advisory for Northeast, Southwest Oregon

SALEM — The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Lane Regional Air Protection Agency issued an air quality advisory Thursday, Sept. 8, for Coos, Curry, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Umatilla, Union and Wallowa counties due to smoke from fires across Oregon and in central Idaho.
The state said it expects the air quality advisory to last until at least Sept. 10 and will continue to monitor smoke in the area, along with its partner agencies.
Conditions can be monitored on the Oregon Smoke Information Blog, DEQ’s Air Quality Index, or by downloading the free OregonAIR app on a smartphone.
