Basketball: Wallowa boys pick up first win

WALLOWA – Fans of Wallowa boys basketball had reason to celebrate as the Cougars downed visiting Alsea 41-24 on Saturday, Dec. 9, for their first victory of the season.

The nonleague win marked the end of the five-game loss streak for Wallowa.

No team or individual statistics were provided for the game.

Wallowa (1-5 overall) was looking to make it two in a row on Tuesday, Dec. 12 with a trip to Echo to take on the Cougars (2-2 overall).

Alsea, a Benton County team on a weekend swing through Northeast Oregon, ended the trip winless and now is 0-6 overall.
