BAKER — Meeting a team on the court twice in the nonleague season is tough. For Enterprise girls coach Dan Butterfield, that situation was expanded as the Outlaws met Imbler not only twice, but in successive games.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, the Outlaws met the Panthers for the second time in a little more than a week in the opening round of the Eastern Oregon Holiday Crossover and lost, 42-30.

It was the Outlaws’ second straight loss to Imbler: On Wednesday, Dec. 20, Imbler defeated Enterprise, 59-42.

“We had too many unforced turnovers and we didn’t control the rebounds,” Butterfield said of the most recent loss to Imbler at Baker High School. But Butterfield saw positives: “Our defense improved over the previous game with them and our free throw percentage is increasing.”

Nevaeh James had 10 points in the loss to lead Enterprise. Alex Rowley finished with eight points.

Enterprise (7-5 overall) continues in the tournament on Friday, Dec. 29 taking on Prairie City/Burnt River and switching gyms to Powder Valley High School. On Dec. 9, the Outlaws beat the Panthers by a 49-28 score in a previous tournament matchup.
