ST. PAUL — The St. Paul football team gave the Enterprise Outlaws two firsts this season on Friday, Sept. 29 in St. Paul. The Outlaws saw their first 1A 8-Man Special District 3 loss and Enterprise also finished a game without a point on the board due to the defense of the Buckaroos.

St. Paul downed Enterprise 40-0, putting a halt to a two-game win streak the Outlaws had before making the trip to take on the Buckaroos.

“You have to play programs like St. Paul to determine where you are and where you need to be,” Enterprise coach Josh Harman said.

Harman said in his 13 years of coaching, the game marked only the second occasion his team has been shut out.

“We had it in the red zone a couple of times, but St. Paul defense is the most fundamentally sound I have ever seen from a team,” Harman said.

He said he was pleased the Outlaws never gave up and for the first time this season, played in muddy, slick conditions.

“Even with the conditions, we had no turnovers,” commented Harman. “We know we can still achieve our goal of making the playoffs this season. A positive is we are still healthy for this time of year.”

Game and individual statistics were not available for the game.

Enterprise (2-2 overall, 2-1 1A 8-Man Special District 3) is back on the home field on Friday, Oct. 6, hosting Sherman/Condon (1-4 overall, 1-2 1A 8-Man Special District 3) with a 7 p.m. start. The Outlaws will be looking to avenge a victory from last year’s game, won by the Huskies in a shootout, 66-46.

The Wallowa Cougars claimed their second win of the season with a 49-14 victory over the Huntington Locomotives on Saturday, Sept. 29 in Huntington.
