ENTERPRISE — There’s a new proprietor at a long-time business in Enterprise: Larrena Overton has taken over at Wallowa Mountain Properties.
She’s not new to the area or to real estate. She’s been a broker for almost five years.
“I started out at Timberline Realty (in Joseph) and I’ve been here for over two years,” she said.
Overton joined the agency as a broker and worked her way up.
“And then I bought it,” she said.
Dozens of well-wishers were on hand April 24 for a ribbon-cutting to ceremonially open the business as Overton’s agency. It’s at the corner of Grant and River streets in Enterprise.
She bought it from Skip and Shannon Novakovich, who have owned it since about 2005. They purchased the agency from its founder, John Gorsline, who began the agency 33 years ago. All still are principal brokers at Wallowa Mountain Properties.
In addition to Gorsline and the Novakoviches are Lee Daggett, Ross Roper, Christian Niece and Mike Lavezzo as brokers or principal brokers. There also are property manager Elisa Gamboa and office manager and broker Kristine Parker.
Overton said she’s lived most of her adult life in Wallowa or Union counties, so she’s quite familiar with the area. She’s been attending classes around the state to learn and be better able to serve the local community.
“I’m getting a number of designations,” meaning she sells properties as principal homes, vacation homes, investment properties, rentals and others. They’re all listed on the brokerage’s website.
