Annual Show and Shine planned for Aug. 16-17

ENTERPRISE — Classic and antique automobiles will flood downtown Enterprise this weekend, when the 10th annual Main Street Show and Shine comes to town.
Put on by the Enterprise Elks Lodge 1829 and Main Street Motors, the event will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17.

The tentative schedule begins Friday with registration at Main Street Motors at 9 a.m. Then comes something new: A cruise to Flora in memory of Don Ward, who died Jan. 28.
Ward was a longtime Flora-area farmer before moving to Enterprise. He was a classic car enthusiast and also owned a logging truck operation. Ward was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Flora Grange.
Cruise participants are asked to gather in the parking lot of Cloverleaf Hall on Highway 3 at noon.
There will be a raffle drawing for first place: $100, second place: $75 and third place: $50.
On Saturday, registration continues at 7 a.m. followed by parking downtown, where the vehicles can be viewed. From 7-10 a.m., the Elks will offer a breakfast fundraiser at Main Street Motors. At 9 a.m. will be the national anthem with flags presented by the Eagle Cap Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 4307.
Judging of the vehicles will take place downtown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street. Awards will be presented beginning at 2:30 p.m., followed by a cruise by the senior citizens homes in Enterprise and Joseph. Maps of the routes will be available at the registration table or the information booth.
