ENTERPRISE — Jeffrey Wecks, an electrician and solar installation foreman at Enterprise Electric, has been named the 2024 Top Solar Installer by Solar Power World, the publication announced Tuesday, July 23.
“Wecks is a self-motivated, hardworking installer who runs a crew of five that travels across Oregon installing both commercial and residential projects,” the industry publication stated.
Wecks has 15 years of solar experience and is also a journeyman electrician, capable of installing any type of electrical system.
“He’s an excellent troubleshooter and is always looking for the most cost-effective way to finish a job,” the publication stated.
In 2023, Wecks oversaw installation of a 4.5-megawatt community solar system and three large rooftop installations on affordable housing apartment complexes, along with numerous residential systems.
Enterprise Electric co-owner Jared Hillock also had high praise for Wecks in his work for the business.
“Jeffrey’s attention to detail and installation efficiency allows Enterprise Electric to be one of the most competitive solar installers in Oregon in the multifamily rooftop solar market,” Hillock said.
A solar company owner who deals with Wecks also had high praise.
“I couldn’t be more proud of Enterprise Electric and Jeffrey Wecks,” said Ryan Sheehy, owner of Fleet Development. “As a developer of rooftop solar for low-income multifamily buildings throughout Oregon and several other states, I’ve been a beneficiary of their excellent work and competitive pricing. They have also helped us innovate our projects and develop creative solutions for difficult projects. Well done.”
The award for Wecks, who also serves as chief of the Joseph Fire Department, was one of three Solar Power World awards announced Tuesday. The other two were Stephen Welch, CEO of Standard Energy Solutions as the Top Solar Advocate, and Lee Spruill, director of learning and development at Blue Ridge Power as the Top Solar Changemaker.
Wecks said he appreciated the honor.
“I think it’s a high honor to be selected out of a lot of people,” he said. “It’s an honor to be appreciated for the work I do.”
He also shared the honor with his crew.
“For all my hard work and being foreman on a crew who helped me, it’s an honor to be recognized.”
