Softball: Three Outlaws earn all-state honors

Sophie Moeller is one of three Outlaw softball players who earned 3A All-State honors.

ENTERPRISE — Three senior members of the Wallowa Valley softball team have been named to the 3A All-State softball team.

Cooper Nave received second-team honors for her work as the Outlaws’ catcher.

Fellow senior Sophie Moeller was honored as a third-team selection as an infielder.

Aimee Meyers also earned third-team honors for her work on the pitching mound.

The 3A pitcher of the year was Ayla Davies of Burns. Scio’s Myleigh Cooper was named the 3A player of the year. JP Kelley of eventual state champion South Umpqua, the team that eliminated the Outlaws in the playoffs, was chosen coach of the year.

Earlier this season, the Oregon Basketball Coaches Association gave Moeller an honorable mention on its all-state girls basketball team.

The state organization representing basketball coaches, the Oregon Basketball Coaches Association, gave her an honorable mention on its all-state girls basketball team.

Moeller led the Cougars to a 14-11 overall record, including a league playoff victory over Nixyaawii.
