WALLOWA — The city of Wallowa welcomes interested people to file for election in November to the positions of mayor and two City Council seats.

Candidates have until Aug. 26 to file at City Hall, 104 N. Pine St., across from the Senior Center. Eligible candidates must have lived in the city for a full year before submitting an application.

The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Up for election are the positions held by longtime Mayor Gary Hulse and two council seats. The mayor serves two-year terms. Councilors serve four-year terms, but are staggered so that only two positions are up for election every two years.

The council members up for election are Scott McCrae and Stacy James. James was elected by the council in December to fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Oren McCrae.
