ENTERPRISE — Businesses in Wallowa and Union counties can access free classes, technical assistance and counseling and apply for small grants and matched savings accounts funded by Business Oregon, according to a press release.

The grants come through the Northeast Oregon Economic Development District’s Economic Equity Investment Program.

The small grant and matched savings programs run from May 1-31, but the matched savings program was full within 24 hours of opening enrollment.

However, the small-grant program is still open. People interested in the program can access this link to check out qualifications for the program and to submit an application: https://neoedd.org/neoedd-eeip-small-grant-information/

Grants are available from $500-$2,000, with a total amount of $26,000 available.

The grants can be used for business assets (such as tools and equipment); working capital (inventory, supplies, rent, utilities, consultants, etc.); and marketing (website, advertising, social media, branding, graphic design, etc.)

Grant funds may not be used for travel, owner salary, any expenses of a multilevel marketing business or repayment of debt.
