Letter to the editor: Boyd is best choice for 10th District judge

Jared Boyd is our best choice for Circuit Court Judge. He served as a prosecutor for 6½ years in the Union County District Attorney’s Office and has been a defense attorney since 2015. He is one of the only attorneys in this area with that breadth of experience. He is also self-financing his campaign. That says a lot about his integrity.

Jared has the endorsement of current Judge Tom Powers and several retired judges. His opponent, Wes Williams, has no such endorsements. All circuit court get paid the same  $174,108 annual salary.

From Jan. 1 to March 25, Judge Powers presided over 765 hearings. Because of disqualifications, Judge Williams only handled 301. By law, he had the right to appeal those disqualifications but failed to challenge a single one. We taxpayers are paying those salaries, but definitely not getting our money’s worth from Judge Williams. Vote for Jared Boyd.
