JOSEPH — The high school baseball season kicks off on Tuesday, March 12 but hometown fans of the Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa team will have to wait almost one month to see the team in action at home.

Coach Zack Grover and the Eagle team hit the road for the opener, traveling to take on the TigerScots of Weston-McEwen/Griswold on Tuesday with the game start slated for 4 p.m. in a nonleague affair. Game results were not available by the Chieftain’s press time.

Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa come off a 17-7 finish last season, a year that saw the team win the 3A Special District 3 and advance to the state tournament, where the Eagles were knocked out by La Pine.

This season, the bus will be a familiar place for the team as the Eagles will not see a home-field game until April 6. A tournament in Madras and a series of nonleague games will keep Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa on the road for almost one month.
