Girls basketball: Outlaws face Willamina Bulldogs in state tournament Saturday

ENTERPRISE — After an outstanding run at the 2A Blue Mountain Conference tournament, the Enterprise girls’ basketball team returns to action Saturday, Feb. 24 in the first round of the state 2A basketball tournament.
The Outlaws will face off against the Willamina Bulldogs on Saturday; tipoff is at 3 p.m.

The ninth-seeded Bulldogs finished their season with a 17-9 overall record and a third-place showing in the Tri-River Conference. Willamina has posted a .500 record thus far in February, playing to a 3-3 record. In the final game of the Tri-River tournament, top-ranked Western Christian rolled over the Bulldogs on Feb. 15, 54-19.
Enterprise hosts as the eighth-seeded team and champions of the Blue Mountain Conference. After falling to both Weston-McEwen and Stanfield in the final two games of the regular season, the Outlaws rebounded by beating both teams in the season-ending tournament.
Comparing the two opponents on Saturday, the Bulldogs have scored 1,006 points for the year while giving up 855 points. Enterprise has an edge in points scored, with 1,140, while Outlaw opponents have scored 891 points.
