I feel that in the scheme of the terrible state the world is in, our fight against Dollar General may seem trivial. However, it is still important to protect our communities now and for our kids and grandkiddos from these types of businesses establishing in Wallowa County.

The research and articles referred to in the nodollargeneral.com website and elsewhere says it all. It may appear to some that we have lost this battle, as the construction continues. They worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; New Years Eve and New Years Day. We may end up with an ugly building with no windows and concrete walls. But maybe down the road we can repurpose it into something like a recreation center for families and children, or a hardware store … something that is a benefit to the county rather than a detriment.
