Letter to the editor: Drivers, wise up and be smart

Come on people, wake up! With the fog, often times freezing, that we have been experiencing this winter it is time to drive defensive and slow down.
When driving in fog I have met many oncoming vehicles with no lights on. Maybe the car has an automatic headlight feature and the driver assumes the lights are on. However, many vehicles have sensors that will not activate the headlights until it is dark and on bright foggy days they will not be on. Our 2015 Chevy pickup is like that. Please turn on your lights.

My wife this past Wednesday was the first to come upon a three-vehicle collision just south of Enterprise. All three drivers were out of their rigs, no hazard lights or headlights on and the vehicles which were not disabled were still in the icy traffic lanes. That stupidity puts not only their own lives at risk, but also anyone else on that route.
Wise up and be smart. It might be your own life that you save.
