Girls basketball: TigerScots drop Eagles, 33-26

JOSEPH — The Weston-McEwen girls basketball team departed Joseph on Thursday, Dec. 14 with a 33-26 victory over the Lady Eagles in nonleague action.

Leading after the first quarter 9-8, the Joseph girls struggled in the second quarter, only adding two free throws to the team’s point total to trailed at the half, 14-11.

The Eagles rebounded in the third quarter but were unable to overcome the deficit to the visiting TigerScots.

Both Aimee Meyers and Caleigh Johnson put in 10 points to lead Joseph in the loss.

Joseph (3-5 overall) now takes some time off for the holiday break, not returning to action until Dec. 27 with a road game in Dufur (1-3 overall). Three nonleague matchups remain on the schedule until the 1A Old Oregon League season starts Jan. 4.
