Basketball: Joseph boys win twice at Hiatt

POWDER VALLEY — The Joseph boys basketball team ended play at the Calvin Hiatt Invitational with two wins after dropping its first game in tournament action.

Joseph started the tournament with a loss after the Adrian Antelopes downed the Eagles 42-30 on Thursday, Dec. 7 in the gym of Powder Valley High School.

The team rebounded on Friday, Dec. 8 with a 45-29 win over the junior varsity team of La Grande.

Closing out the tournament on Saturday, Dec. 9, the Eagles grabbed a 55-30 victory over Jordan Valley.

Team and individual statistics for the games were not available.

Joseph (2-4 overall) attempts to build on its two-game win streak as it enters 1A Old Oregon League play on Tuesday, Dec. 12 with a home game versus the Elgin Huskies (2-2 overall). That game tipped off after the Chieftain’s press time.
