Prep basketball: Eagle teams fall on Haitt’s opening day

POWDER VALLEY – The Joseph basketball teams, both boys and girls, opened the Calvin Hiatt Invitational in Powder Valley with losses on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Facing Adrian in their tournament opener for the tournament, the Eagle boys fell 42-30 to the Antelopes. Joseph, 0-4 on the year, is scheduled to face the junior varsity squad of La Grande on Friday, Dec. 8 with a 4:30 p.m. start.

The Joseph girls also faced Adrian with this game ending with a closer score. The Lopes downed the Eagles 43-38, handing the Lady Eagles their second loss of the year. Joseph, now 2-2 on the year, meets 3A Nyssa on Friday, Dec. 8 with a 3 p.m. start.
