Wrestling: Outlaw boys win meet at home

ENTERPRISE — The Enterprise boys started the wrestling season off well, both hosting and winning their own Kick Off tournament on Friday, Dec. 1.

The Outlaw boys ended the day with 74.5 points, 20 points better than second-place Pine Eagle’s 54.5 points. Union/Cove finished third with 21 points and Imbler and Joseph rounded out the top five scores. Echo/Stanfield placed sixth in the team scoring.

Enterprise picked up a string of first-place showings including James Royes, Pearce Schnetzky, Tegan Evans and Cade Cunningham.

Cunningham had to outduel teammate Gunnar McDowell for the top spot while Evans finished the day undefeated. Schnetzky picked up wins in three of his four matches in the tournament while Royes won both of his matches.

Joseph saw Jayden McNall take a top finish after ending the day 2-1 in his matches. Dylan Rogers finished his day 2-0 for a championship.

The Outlaw boys had little time to celebrate as the team was on the road early Saturday, Dec. 2 for a trip to Idaho to take part in the Dick Griswold Invitational.

The Eagle boys are next in action Friday, Dec. 8 at the Culver Invitational.

Outlaw girls nab fourth place ENTERPRISE — Led by a second-place finish by Talluah April, the Enterprise girls grabbed a fourth-place showing at their home tournament, the Enterprise Kick Off, on Friday, Dec. 1.

Union/Cove took home the team title with 30 points, followed closely by Echo/Stanfield in second with 27 points. Pine Eagle, with 23 points, was ahead of the Outlaw girls’ point total of 14.

April finished the day with a 2-1 showing. Teammate Kaylee Eaves took fourth place for the tournament.

The Outlaw girls next take to the mats in Echo on Friday, Dec. 8 for the Safeway Girls Buckle Classic.
