Enterprise to host Cove in first-round playoff game

ENTERPRISE — The Enterprise Outlaws open their quest for a 1A 8-man football state title with a first-round playoff game at home against Cove at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3.

The Outlaws picked up the seventh seed for the playoffs after a playing to a 6-2 overall record, including a 56-6 romp Friday, Oct. 27 on the road against Lyle/Wishram/Klickikat/Glenwood. The game marked the fourth straight win for Enterprise and once again showcased the Outlaws’ potent offense: In all six of its victories, the team has scored at least 46 points.

Cove, 5-4 overall for the year and the No. 10 seed, has won its last two games, most recently a 54-24 decision on Friday, Oct. 27 against Elgin. The Leopards also can put points on the board: In four of its five wins, the team has scored at least 42 points.

The winner of the Enterprise-Cove game will play at second-seeded Crane in the tourney’s second round in a game scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10. Kickoff time for that game is to be determined. The tournament’s top seed is Lost River, 8-0 this season.

Enterprise and Cove had a chance to see each other in a jamboree setting to start the season on Aug. 25 but much has changed since that date.
