WILSONVILLE — A loss last week to Prairie City/Burnt River pushed the Joseph football team down to fifth in the Oregon School Activities Association’s 1A 6-man coaches’ poll released early Friday, Sept. 15.

After sitting second in the coaches’ minds last week, the 18-6 victory by the Panthers over the Eagles resulted in Joseph’s drop to fifth in the poll. The formal OSAA rankings see Joseph in seventh place.

A new leader sits atop the coaches’ poll as the Harper Hornets have taken over the top spot, followed by Prairie City/Burnt River in second. Alsea and Powers are the remaining two teams ahead of Joseph in the coaches’ poll.

Joseph is back in action Friday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in a game at Pine Eagle.
