ENTERPRISE — The ninth annual Main Street Show and Shine saw a mixture of old and new faces along with the vintage vehicles on Saturday, Aug. 19.
Among the new participants this year was Bud Clutts from Gardnerville, Nevada, with a 1929 Ford Delivery.
Clutts built his Ford Delivery in 2005 at the request of a friend from high school, he said.
His friend’s parents owned a winery when Clutts and his friend were in high school, and the car reflects that. Complete with decals of the winery on the windows and its deep purple paint job, Clutts couldn’t be more proud of his car.
“My buddy died of pancreatic cancer before I could give it to him, so I kept it to honor his memory,” Clutts said.
Clutts came to visit Wallowa County from Nevada at the invitation of friends who live in the county.
“I am from a small town, so I really feel quite at home. It is a beautiful area,” Cluts said.
The Clutts won the Furthest Traveled award sponsored by Les Schwab.
Familiar cars and faces included Jim and Mike Boyer with their 1934 Roadster, which was voted 2022’s best in show; Bob Perry’s 1915 Ford Touring (the oldest car at the show this year); and Wallowa County Commissioner John Hillock’s 1941 Ford Coupe.
