Outlaws’ season ends with playoff loss to Yamhill-Carlton

YAMHILL – The softball season for the Enterprise/Joseph/Wallowa Outlaws came to a close on the field of Yamhill-Carlton on Friday, May 26, with the Tigers downing the Outlaws 13-2 in a five-inning game.
Coming into the 3A tournament, the seventh-seeded Enterprise/Joseph/Wallowa squad was forced to go on the road in the second round of the playoffs to face the Yamhill-Carlton team, the No. 2 seed.

The Tigers jumped out early in the matchup and closed out the contest under the mercy rule.
The Outlaws leave the field this season with an 18-6 overall record and a second-place showing in the 3A Special District 4 behind Burns/Crane, the reigning state champion.
Due to graduation, the Outlaws lose three seniors including Maci Marr, Sydney Hopkins and Khovia Zahra.
Next season will be senior-heavy with 11 juniors scheduled to return.
