High school baseball: Eagles pick up win, two losses in season-opening trip

UMATILLA — The Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa baseball team opened the season with three games in two days.

Playing in tournament action in Bend on Friday, March 17, the Eagle dropped a 13-5 decision to South Umpqua in an afternoon game followed by a 13-10 loss to La Pine later that same day.

On March 18, the team was on the bus to Umatilla to take on Heppner/Ione in a nonleague game. Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa picked up the squad’s first victory of the season, downing the Mustangs 9-7.

The trips on the bus will continue for the team on March 23 as Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa (1-2 overall) meets the La Grande junior varsity for two games.
