Letter: Elgin Opera House does not disappoint

Although I admit that the play “Beauty and the Beast” is one of my least favorite musicals, I decided to take in the production at the Elgin Opera House. From the overture to the finale, this play was one of the best I have seen. Director Terry Hale and assistant Catlin Marshall produced a play that had the audience captivated from the opening curtain.

The scene designs were captivating, and the characters skillful as they performed the difficult scenes and projected beautiful music during the entire play. Each of the character’s actions were very believable, and from top to bottom the cast gave an outstanding performance. As one patron commented while leaving, “That was amazing.”

I would encourage all readers to take the time to see some of the plays offered at the Opera House. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
