JOSEPH — Learn to bind books with Roberta Lavadour in a two-day workshop Oct. 15-16 at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, according to a press release.

The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.

Lavadour will teach sewn board binding, which is considered one of the most versatile structures in book arts, lending itself to everything from artists’ books to self-published chapbooks to blank journals.

The class combines the fundamentals that inform sound construction with the satisfaction of finishing a ready-to-enjoy book.
