ENTERPRISE — The Wallowa County Rotary Club will once again use Patrick Thiel’s organic vegetables to raise money for our High School Scholarship Program.

For over 20 years, the club has given college scholarships to high school students from all county schools. Scholarships are awarded to seniors, but redeemable at the beginning of the sophomore year — they are a “second step” forward.

This year, in the spring of 2021, the club awarded $9,000 in scholarships to eight students.

Interested participants can help themselves to good meals with a purchase of Thiel’s Prairie Creek Farm organic vegetables. Potatoes will be in 10-pound packages and carrots in 8-pound packages. Each package is $20, with almost half going to scholarships.

Many people donate some or all of their purchase to the Community Connection Food Bank. Rotary will take care of delivering the food on a donor’s behalf.

For more information, contact Rick Bombaci, Anette Christoffersen, Rich Wandschneider — or any Rotarian — to order. Wandschneider’s number is 541-263-0930.
