Children all over the county attended Easter egg hunts in Joseph, Enterprise or Wallowa. The Easter Bunny came a day early for the county’s hunts, will all three taking place on Saturday, March 31.
Fine spring weather greeted the more than 100 children dressed in their egg-hunting best took part in the Joseph City Park festivities.
Eager children, followed by doting parents, took less than 10 minutes to find the 4,500 eggs the Easter Bunny had carefully hidden. As children showed their treasures to parents, Hendrix Pace, 2, daughter of Brooke and David Pace, talked about her riches. It was her first hunt.
“I got a ball,” she said.
Asked what kind of candy she liked best, Pace replied: “Green.”
She also nodded when asked if she’d like to come back next year. Once their treasures were transferred to watchful parents, many of the children made their way down to the playground. Even if they didn’t find any more eggs there, they found fun.
