‘Hiking Hells Canyon’ Sept. 5

The Josephy Center will host Rick Bombaci for a presentation on his hikes in Hells Canyon noon Tuesday, Sept. 5 during a Brown Bag Luncheon.

The current exhibit in the Josephy Center gallery is “Wilderness & Sublimity: Photography and the Conservation of Hells Canyon.” Six photographers rafter the River in May; the exhibit is the resulting photographs. Rick Bombaci will provide another view.

Rick has lived and hiked in the Wallowas for many years, and over the last dozen years has made several trips into Hells Canyon, crawling along the often overgrown trails as the boats and rafts scurry along the river far below. He’s checked old trails, campsites and homesites and marked his trips with photos and journals.

Brown bags are free and open to the public, made possible by the sponsorship of Bennett Insurance and donations from the public.
