Outlaws close season on a loss

The Enterprise football team wrapped up its season with a 32-14 loss to Union/Cove at Cove on Friday.

Outlaws coach Mike Rowley said the game was much closer than the final score indicated.

“It really was pretty close,” Rowley said. “We had some turnovers, and we had some penalties that cost us quite a bit, and that just kills you.”

Many of the key penalties came when the defense had just stopped the Union/Cove offense on third or fourth down, giving the Bobcats extra opportunities to score.

High points for Enterprise included a Justin Exon touchdown pass to Trent Walker.

“Justin had a pretty good game,” Rowley said. “He had quite a few passing yards. We passed quite a bit in this game.”

The coach also noted the performance of Trent Bales, who led the team in rushing, and Matt McKee for his play as a two-way lineman.

“(McKee) just broke out and played a real good game,” Rowley said.

Stats for the game were unavailable. Enterprise ended the 2015 season 0-4 in league play and 0-7 overall.
