E-Gals VB off to district

The E-Gals volleyball team had a great homecoming against the Pine Eagle Spartans Friday, Oct. 16 (25-12, 25-10, 25-12) and honored four seniors: Satori Albee, Natalie Williams, Jesse Woodhead and Kendal Kreutzer.

“They will be greatly missed next season,” said Coach Jill Hite.

But they’re not done playing and the team went on to cap off their regular season with another win against the Wallowa Cougars Saturday (25-8, 25-15, 25-13).

Stats: Satori Albee led the team against Wallowa with 11 serving aces, seven blocks and 21 kills; Natalie Williams scored 12 kills and three blocks; Freshman Emma Hite had 37 assists, 15 digs and three kills; Junior Ally Cooney had 10 kills; junior Haven Johnson served six aces and scored five kills; Junior Johnele Suto had two serving aces, 11 assists and 20 digs; and Freshman Tori Suto added four serving aces.

“Our overall serving percentage was above 90 percent,” said Coach Jill Hite. “The girls had great movement as a team as well as energy. We ended the season 8-4 in league and we’re sitting fourth. (Assistant Coach) Laurie Huffman and I are very proud of this group of girls.”

The E-Gals are off to District with an OSAA number 23-ranking and a record of 25 wins to 36 losses at press time.
