McNerney named as director of Fishtrap

Fishtrap Board of Directors has hired Shannon McNerney as executive director after a national search. She begins her new position Oct. 28.

“We’re excited to have such a qualified and passionate incoming Executive Director,” says Fishtrap Board President, Rose Caslar, “Shannon brings a host of valuable skills and ideas to our beloved organization.”

McNerney was working as the Executive Director for the Portland Symphonic Choir. She has also worked as Marketing Project Manager at Oregon Public Broadcasting, Executive Manager of Events at the Oregon Catholic Press and a consultant helping small businesses and nonprofits create effective marketing strategies.

She brings a passion for Fishtrap’s mission and a love for storytelling to her position at Fishtrap.

She says, “Books have been my best friends for as long as I can remember, and writing has been my escape. Getting the opportunity to be a part of an organization that gives writers and readers a place to connect in a beautiful part of the west is incredibly exciting.
