Ielene Ruth Kuhn Searles, 89, passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2015. A public graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Enterprise Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Enterprise Christian Church.

Ielene was born in Joseph to her parents Harold and Goldie Kuhn. She was raised on the family ranch in the Paradise Ridge area where she went to grade school. She attended Enterprise High School, graduating in 1944. She married Victor Keith Searles on May 2, 1945, at which time Keith was serving in the Army-Air Corps during WWII. Together, they farmed on Alder Slope and raised four children.

Ielene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor Keith, sister Noma Martin, and daughter Susan Jill. She is survived by son Kerry Searles of Enterprise, son Kent Searles of Tillamook, and daughter Jolene Searles of Joseph. She has 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ielene was a longtime member of Enterprise Christian Church. She served as a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout leader, and was active in the Oregon Eastern Star.

In lieu of flowers, and upon her request, she has asked that any desired donations be made to the Enterprise Christian Church Building Fund, 207 E. Main St., Enterprise, OR 97828.
