Verla “Jean” Zollman Rametes Feb. 23, 1933 – April 25, 2015

Verla “Jean” Zollman Rametes, 82, passed away April 25, 2015 in Medford. She had been in frail health for the past year.

She was the youngest of 12 children born to Floyd D. and Ethel (Eggleson) Zollman on Alder Slope, Feb. 23, 1933. She attended the Reavis school, and Joseph and Enterprise schools.

She was married to Robert LeBlanc March 4, 1950 in Enterprise. They lived in various places in Oregon. Bob worked as a Fish Hatcheryman until his eyesight failed. Jean worked in grocery and drug stores wherever they were residing. Bob and Jean later went their separate ways. She remarried to Lawrence “Buster” Rametes Feb. 11, 1978. He passed away July 3, 2005.

Jean was tough and determined in all that she did. Also patient, understanding and considerate of all. A super woman who raised five sons, all who became honorable men. “She had pluck and was not faint-hearted when work was required of her,” says a daughter-in-law.

No services are planned.

She is survived by her sons, Randy, Robert “Bruce”, Charles “Chuck”, David and Mark; their wives; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great-grand. One brother, Kenneth, of Peoria, Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews.
