George Loal Barnett, 71, of Joseph, passed away at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise on Monday, April 13, 2015. He was born Tuesday, June 15, 1943 in Woodlake, Calif., to George and Nora (Schultz) Barnett. He served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam war from Jan. 26, 1961 through April 9, 1965 when he was honorably discharged.

He is preceded in death by his father George; his mother Nora; two brothers, Edward and Clinton; and the mother of his daughters, Virginia (Miller) Henshaw. He is survived by a sister Christiana; three daughters, Annalee, Kathleen and Michelle; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Touvelle State Park in Jackson County, Ore., at 1 p.m. Saturday May 2, 2015. All are welcome to attend and share food and memories with the family.
