Phyllis Lorraine Dotson passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. Phyllis was born May 28, 1929, in North Bend to Glenn and Elizabeth Lindros McKay. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1947.
She married Russell Dotson Sept 15, 1948, in Eugene.

They lived around the Northwest working in the logging industry until 1957 when they settled in Athena. She worked as a bank teller and for Farm Chemicals in accounting. In 1965, they moved to Joseph and were partners in Fred’s Market in Enterprise. Later they were partners in the 76 Union Gas Station in Joseph. After Russell bought two logging trucks, Phyllis kept his books until retirement.
Phyllis was an artist and loved drawing, painting, photography and knitting.
She enjoyed a lively game of cards and spent many afternoons playing with her close friends. Phyllis loved the ladies bible study and attended faithfully for many years. She was a member of the Imnaha Christian Fellowship.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren fishing, doing art projects and playing outdoors.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Dale and Marla Dotson of Joseph and Dan and Laura Dotson of Imnaha, grandchildren Chad Dotson of Joseph and Samantha Dotson of Eugene and Cody Lee and his wife Chelsi of Lewiston, sister-in-law Susie McKay and niece Roxanne McKay of La Pine, and sister-in-law Peggy Dotson of Bend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her parents, and brother, Jim McKay.
